Following the completion of a full work assessment and staff training, the designation of an on-site point person responsible for staff compliance, training issues and new hire training of sonographer ergonomics can be a critical component to the success of implementing the suggested work safety control measures. It is recommended that the appointed staff member be a practicing clinical sonographer. Creating a peer-based system for staff compliance helps to support a non-threatening atmosphere for addressing and reporting concerns for work related injury.
The train-the-trainer program includes one-on-one training with a single designated staff person of your choice. This half-day training will define the risk factors of work-related musculoskeletal disorders among sonographers, and its impact on the worker and employer. It will provide a greater understanding of prevention and work modification techniques by identifying the work practices that aggravate pain and increase the risk for injury. Additionally the designated trainer will be provided with information to assist others in identifying and addressing risk factors in work the environment, including a valuable reference book.
