Worker Transitional Retraining


Individualized training can be provided for the allied health employee returning to work following a work-related musculoskeletal injury. This program assists in reducing the risk factors for re-injury. Recommended for those re-entering the workplace following injury.

Program includes:

Hands-on assessment of work technique
• Postural alignment
• Exam technique
• Adaptive equipment recommendations

Hands-on training in preventative maintenance exercises
• Exercises designed by a physical therapist specifically for sonography
• Exercise poster of recommended stretching exercises
• Hand strengthening putty with instructions
• Pocket exercise cards

Evaluation of individual environmental factors
• Specifications for recommended ergonomic ancillary equipment
• Proper utilization of equipment

Worksite Follow-Up
A worksite follow-up to the Worker Retraining Program is a service that provides sonographers with valuable feedback once they return to the worksite. Consultation is available on an hourly basis and includes evaluation of the work environment and assisting the worker to utilize ergonomic training within the confines of the specific work environment.
